Waterfox is a Firefox-based web browser, specially developed and compiled for 64-bit Windows editions. A number of optimization procedures have been applied and, as the creator assures on 64-bit architecture, it works much more efficiently than its popular protoplastic. Waterfox is nothing more than a Firefox browser customized for 64-bit architecture.

It is based on the Gecko rendering engine, which to a large extent supports W3C recommendations, as well as those under development related to HTML5 and CSS3. It offers the same functionality as Firefox, including card browsing, pop-up blocker, built-in download manager, support for visual minima and several useful tools for webmasters. The browser supports almost all extensions, plugins and themes created for 32-bit Firefox.

Waterfox developers have also developed plug-ins for Java, Flash and Silverlight especially for users. They are available for download on the project page.
