Jahshaka is one of the few free and at the same time multiplatform programs designed for editing, adding special effects, animations and sounds to video materials. The program is characterized by quite an interesting interface, which is hard to find in applications of this type. Each Jahshaka element has been divided into 10 rooms where the user can perform certain actions.

We have at our disposal, among others, a desktop room designed for adding and viewing multimedia files (video, audio, graphics), colorize to improve image colorize, tracker for video stabilization, keyer used for greenscreen effects or encoder, in which we can encode the finished material to the selected format. Operation of the program is not the easiest. The editor's interface, although it has an innovative and interesting approach, does not work in many cases.

The possibilities of filters included in Jahshaki also leave a lot to be desired, especially that the program used to be called a free alternative to such tools as After Effects. Jahshaka has not been developed since 2006, and it is not very feasible to create "Oscar" production with its help. The application is based on OpenML and OpenGL rendering technologies.

An important element of Jahshaka is cooperation with many audio-video formats, and its next advantage is the possibility of installation on many platforms: Windows, Linux and Mac.
