ScreenSnag is a free and very simple tool for capturing desktop images. With its help we can efficiently take a screenshot, containing the whole screen area or a selected part of it. The program offers the user an almost ascetic graphical interface, in which all available options are located in the main window of the program.
They allow you to create so-called screens, which can cover the entire screen content, a designated area or any application window. ScreenSnag has a large set of configuration options for this type of tool, thanks to which we can define whether the screenshot should be copied to the clipboard or saved on the disk, add a border to it, text with information about the user who made the screen and the time of its creation. In addition, the tool has been equipped with functions for scaling the output image, timer, which allows you to automatically take a shot after the declared time, as well as defining whether the mouse cursor should be visible on the screen.
The user can also indicate whether the preview is to be displayed after the snapshot or whether we will modify it in the default graphic editor. ScreenSnag allows you to save any combination of settings in the form of profiles that can be used in the future when working with the program. Finished images can be saved to BMP, PNG and JPG files.
With the latter, it is also possible to configure the output image quality.
