Synfig Studio is a multi-platform application designed for people who create animations. It uses both vector graphics and bitmaps. It allows users to easily create animations without having to repeat frame-by-frame movements.
The program offers features such as layer creation, HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) support and tablet compatibility. The application interface has been designed to be as easy to use as possible. In the main Synfig Studio window you will find a toolbox, a window for managing pallets and options, as well as a tool for tracking frames, layers and metadata.
With their help we can edit animation, add shapes and fillings, as well as change the layout of layers or save notes. In version 1.0 we will find a rebuilt graphical interface created with the use of GTK+3. Also noteworthy is the already completed system of "bones", which allows you to combine the shapes of characters with a virtual skeleton, which will be used to determine the movement of limbs and deformations.
Advanced image distortion can take advantage of the skeleton with a new layer of distortion. Working with raster images will be greatly facilitated by the ability to cut them into pieces, which can then be freely animated in a non-destructive way. You can change the cutting lines at any time and return to the starting point.
In this version of the program there is also a preliminary implementation of the sound layer, which can contain tracks from files in WAV, Ogg Vorbis or MP3 formats. Realism of animation will improve the possibility of applying physics modeling. Basic simulation of simple kinetic phenomena, including friction, acceleration and harmonic motion, can already be used.
