Red Eclipse is a multi-platform, free FPS game based on a Cube 2 engine, deceptively reminiscent of such titles as Quake III Arena or Cube 2: Sauerbraten; and as in it, the first thing that captivates Red Eclipse is dynamics, energy and, above all, smooth gameplay.

Another similarity with Red Eclipse is its ease of use. The first time you turn it on, you will quickly start to get an idea of the structure of the game. It has a clear menu and an easy to understand interface even for inexperienced players.

We can easily find one of several available modes and choose the one in which we feel like a small demolk. You can choose: Edition mode, in which you can create your own worlds and compete in them with your friends, Campaign - not yet developed by the creators, is limited only to the pointless completion of an infinite number of enemies, Deatchmatch or total infighting without unnecessary planning - the most important thing is to stay alive for as long as possible and eliminate as many enemies as possible from a specific board.

Then Capture-the-Flag and Defend-the-Flag, a game of intercepting and defending the flag. In addition to these classic modes, there are two unique ones, Time-Trial and Bomber-Ball, where two rival teams place a time bomb against each other to quickly eliminate members of an enemy team. In addition, it is worth noting that each of the mentioned modes can be freely mutated, for example by limiting the equipment only to the sword or the rocket launcher itself, we can also join the teams if the main mode does not provide for it or force a "one-on-one" game.

You can also create your own combinations of modes, enriching them with specific, interesting add-ons. For example, we choose Deatchmatch, in which apart from classic opponents there are ubiquitous, armed undeads, which can only be eliminated with an accurate shot on the head, or Capture-the Flag, where we additionally move by means of a jetpack. Red Eclipse is dressed in pretty good graphics, and the whole is accompanied by an expressive and vigorous soundtrack encouraging competition and duels.

Of course, the game's audio-visual setting differs from the latest items promoted by commercial companies or other outstanding freewer titles, but you may like it, and fans of FPS games should have a good time with it.
