PeaZip is a free, open source archive of great-value files. It also includes secure file encryption mechanisms, a convenient archive converter, tools for secure file deletion, file comparison, merging and sharing. It is also worth mentioning the image manager, which allows you to process JPG, TIFF, PPM, XPM files, changing their quality and resolution.

As an archiving overlay based on 7z, FreeARC, PAQ and UPX, this tool supports a total of 188 file types. Full support (i.e. reading and writing) offers for formats such as 7z, arc/wrc, sfx (7z and arc), bz2, gz, paq/lpaq/zpaq, pea, quad/balz/bcm, split, tar, upx, wim, zip.

The encryption possibilities depend on the format: in case of 7z we can use AES256, zip gives access to AES256 AE and ZipCrypto, you can also decrypt PKZip files treated with AES encryption.

AES256, Blowfish, Twofish256 and Serpent256 are available for the ARC format, while PEA's own format offers AES256 EAX authenticated encryption.
