MPCSTAR is a set of applications and codecs supporting the most popular audio and video formats available on the market. When installing MPCSTAR we no longer need to worry about supporting video formats such as AVI, MKV, OGM, MPG, MPEG, MPV, TS, WMV, ASF, RM, MOV, QT, MP4, M4V, 3GP, 3GPP, 3G2, 3GP2, PMP, FLV, F4V, SWF, VOB, IFO or AVCHD format - M2TS, MTS, M2T. In addition, MPCSTAR offers the ability to convert various types of video files to formats supported by devices such as iPhone or PSP.

The authors have equipped the MPCSTAR package with a simple and lightweight audio player (CometPlayer) supporting the most popular formats including MP3, MPA, MP2, WMA, OGG, Flac, APE, WAV and an application for watching movies (MPCSTAR). CometPlayer is an extremely lightweight player, which in addition to the function of music playback also offers the ability to automatically download lyrics, set covers, change application skins, and so on. Like an audio playback program, the MPCSTAR player has a low system resource requirement.
