Media Player Classic is a multi-format media player based on the DirectShow platform. It supports DivX, XviD and H.264 as well as Matroska "multimedia container", which allows to play QuickTime and RealPlayer files (if QuickTime or RealPlayer is installed). Allows you to capture a picture, in case of having TV tuners it allows you to record programs.

Without installing additional codecs, you can play VCD, SVCD and DVD movies (with real-time zoom option) in the MPC. MPC supports various subtitle formats. Media Player Classic looks deceptively similar to Windows Media Player version 6.4, but the similarity is deceptive because it is equipped with a much richer range of possibilities.

The program is small in size and is not installed in the system. Built-in source filters: DTS/AC3, DVD Video Title Set, DVD2AVI Project File, FLI/FLC, FLV, Matroska, MP4/MOV, MPEG Audio, MPEG PS/TS/PVA, Nut, Ogg, RealMedia, RoQ, SHOUTcast.
