HDDlife is a free, simple program to check the condition of IDE, Serial ATA, SCSI hard drives using S.M.A.A.R.T. technology installed on your computer. It helps you to detect an upcoming hard drive failure earlier. In the basic version, the program shows the general status of each installed disc, its temperature and partition information. In the paid Professional version (which can be tested with the same installation file), it also offers detailed information about the condition of the drives, a detailed status display in the notification area (called tray), as well as the ability to send warnings via the local network or e-mail.
