HDD Guardian is a small but useful tool for monitoring the condition of computer-mounted hard drives based on S.M.A.R.T technology. With its help, we will also perform specialized tests to detect media damage and protect data stored on it from loss. The program is addressed to all users who would like to examine the actual condition of their hard drive and protect valuable files from their permanent loss due to device failure.

The HDD Guardian is a graphical overlay on the smartctl tool and has a number of useful features that allow you to monitor many of the important attributes of S.M.A.R.T that reflect the condition of your hard drive. With their help, not only will we gain access to many advanced parameters of our drive, but we will also thoroughly test it for various types of errors, e.g. damaged sectors.

In the main window of the tool you will find a summary, including general information about the media - its temperature, the results of recent tests, the life of the device or detected errors. Subsequent cards gather detailed data about the media itself (serial number, firmware version, exact size, sector size, etc.), individual partitions, performance and many important attributes of S.M.A.R.T. HDD Guardian can optionally work within the system tray, from where it will inform the user about any changes in the monitored properties.

The program also allows you to create reports with information about the disk and its operating parameters, as well as to present data in the form of clear charts.
