Freeplane is a free open source tool for creating thought maps. The program will certainly be useful for people who are preparing for an important test or exam, but not only - creating a variety of schemes will also be helpful when we need to present a lot of information in a clear graphic form. Clear user interface makes using the application quick and easy, and if necessary, we can run multiple maps in one window (on cards), which will make our work much easier.

Freeplane has many useful features that will help you create the exact mind map you need and, if necessary, secure it with a password. With the built-in editor, you can create your own graphic style, change the color and font of individual nodes, the type of border, add various tags and icons, tables and even numbered lists, and edit the appearance of branches, for example, to highlight more important information. There is nothing to prevent a link to a website or other source.

Use of the tool is possible both in the window and on the full screen. It is worth mentioning that Freeplane offers the possibility of exporting the created documents to popular formats. Thought maps can be saved as Java applet, Flash animation, HML document, Twiki project or simply transferred to a graphics file format (JPEG or PNG), PDF document or text file.

I wasn't disappointed, Freeplane works elegantly.
