FFDShow is a very good and fast alternative decoder of video files (movies) saved in DivX, MPEG 4 version 1, 2 and 3 formats. FFDShow is especially recommended for "choking" movies on free equipment and/or problems with playback of movies saved in the old DivX 3.x and 4.x format by the latest DivX codecs. It uses very good and accurate algorithms of decoded image processing, thanks to which it is clear, without large squares of uniform color, distortions and various noises.

These algorithms were taken from the perfect decoder for XviD format by Nica, a well-known and respected in the world of DivX codecs programmer, one of the developers of XviDa.
