Software for monitoring of rooms and open areas of the Polish company FERRO Software. In combination with cameras (USB or connected via TV and video cards), it allows to create a fully professional monitoring system. It is an ideal solution for shops, petrol stations, warehouses and private properties.

Ferro CCTV can record video images at speeds from 1 to 25 frames per second, so it can be used for recording static and moving objects. The program can use popular DivX codecs, which in combination with motion detection and time-lapse recording, gives the possibility to store many months of recordings on the computer's hard drive. The program also allows you to record sound.

Ferro CCTV eliminates the inconvenience of using a traditional time-lapse video recorder (high price, the need to change tapes frequently, long access time to recorded sessions). The Zoom function, unheard of in traditional CCTV systems, allows you to precisely watch selected fragments of the image. Monitoring system based on Ferro CCTV due to low costs, easy operation and automatic recording options is suitable for use even in small businesses.

The program consists of two modules: Ferro CCTV Recorder - for recording images from any type of camera and recording video material on a computer disk, and Ferro CCTV Player - for viewing recorded events. The program saves color video material in AVI format, which can be played both with Ferro CCTV Player and any other program playing media files, such as Windows Media Player.

The recorded stream can be compressed "on the fly" using available codecs, e.g. "on the fly": DivX, MPEG-4....

which will take up much less disk space. The program allows to set the recording speed in the range of 0.1 frame/sec. up to 30 frames/sec.

and the dimensions of the recorded material. There are options in the program that allow unattended use of the program. Selecting the "Start at system startup" option will automatically start the program after a power failure or restart of the computer.

In combination with the option "Enable recording after starting the program", the CCTV system does not require any startup steps when turning on the computer - the recording will start automatically. With the recording speed set to 1 fps, image size 320x240 (VHS quality) and DivX compression, the program will allow you to store several months of recordings on a disk with a capacity of 20 GB. This time can be even longer if the Motion Detection option is activated.

In this case, the recording is made only when the object in the camera frame is moving. Another feature that allows you to view recorded material accurately is "Playback speed". Thanks to this feature, when the speed is set to 16x, it is possible to view the recording hours very quickly, or when the speed is set to less than 1x, to view precisely selected sequences.

Finding the right fragment of the recording is very easy because the names of all recorded files have the form: year _ month _ day_ cctv _ hour _ minute _ second. In Ferro CCTV program - Player - choose the file you are interested in, and then scroll to the place you want to watch.

An additional help is the function that allows you to automatically find a recording from a given period. Just enter the date and time and the program will find the right file on the disk, load it and scroll to the right place with an accuracy of one second.
