DVD Audio Extractor is an easy to use and multi-platform tool that allows you to extract the soundtrack from a DVD movie and then save it to your computer in one of the most popular formats - OGG, MP3, WAV, ALAC or FLAC. The program can handle copy-protected media, as well as those that have more than one language version of the soundtrack. It supports all audio formats used for DVD-Audio and DVD-Video discs:
MLP (Meridian Lossless Packiing), LPCM (Linear Pulse Code Modulation), DTS (Digital Theater Systems), Dolby Digital (AC-3) and MPEG2. Depending on the selected output format, DVD Audio Extractor allows you to record audio in Mono, Stereo, Joint Stereo or 5.1 Surround. When ripping the soundtrack to an uncompressed WAV file, the available options allow you to use an unlimited number of channels, 8, 16 or 24-bit with the function of saving each channel to a separate file.
An optimized processing engine allows you to copy the full soundtrack in about 10% of normal playback time. DVD Audio Extractor is equipped with a simple graphical interface. The soundtrack ripping process is just 4 simple steps in the default wizard.
After starting the program and inserting the DVD drive, select the language version you are interested in (if more than one is available) and mark in the list the chapters from which the sound will be extracted and written to the disc. Then select the output format and adjust its basic options (e.g. number of channels, bitrate, VBR and ABR), indicate where the audio file is to be saved, the level of sound normalization and whether the M3U playlist is to be generated.
The next step is to ripple the sound on the computer disk. DVD Audio Extractor also offers a simple metadata editor.
