Basilisk is an open browser, based on the Goann engine, a fork known from Firefox Gecko. XUL is used to draw the interface, so the program can be a good choice for users who do not like the changes presented in Firefox 57. The browser has all the functions that are standard in modern browsers:
card browsing, download manager, incognito mode or developer tools. In addition, the interface elements can be conveniently modified by drag-and-drop Goanna's engine is in fact the Gecko version, from before the release of Firefox 57 and devoid of elements taken from Servo, such as the new CSS support system. Browser offers support for XUL/Overlay extensions, NPAPI plugins, ECMAscript 6 standard for JS.
Creators also strongly emphasize what we can't find in Basilisk: components written in Rust language, Photon interface or support for many processes. In terms of interface and function, Basilisk does not differ from Firefox 56, you can even synchronize data using Firefox Sync.
