StartW8 is a small and free tool that restores the classic Start menu on Windows Server 2012 and Windows 8. Its developers made every effort to make the application work with the new graphical interface of the system, while offering functionality known from previous editions of Microsoft's operating environment. After installation, the tool introduces the Start menu in the system, to which we got used when using Windows Vista/7 operating system.
It contains such elements as a built-in search engine, a list of all programs and games installed in the system, a list of the most frequently run software, references to key elements and system tools (e.g. My Computer, Documents or Control Panel), as well as buttons for quick shutdown, restart, user logout, etc. StartW8 also supports keyboard shortcuts for mouse-neutral menus, offers context menus for basic operations on objects, and supports drag-and-drop methods for smoothly moving items within the Start menu, but not only.
