Samsung SSD 840 EVO Performance Restoration is a small application designed to improve the performance of Samsung SSDs. It allows you to quickly update the firmware of the internal media and optimize it to avoid problems with the speed of reading. The application was created as a response to problems detected in Samsung SSD 840 EVO series drives related to reading "old data":

the speed of reading data that has been on the drive for at least 30 days and has not been modified is significantly reduced (to the level of just a few MB/s). With this application, you can restore your drive's performance to the appropriate level. When you run the program allows you to select the drive for optimization, displays its serial number, capacity, and currently installed firmware.

The operation is divided into four steps: the first is to check the internal software version and, if necessary, to update it. In three consecutive steps, the application makes the necessary optimizations on the disk, which are to restore its full performance.

When the repair procedure is started, the computer is automatically restarted. The operation itself has several requirements, e.g. the disk must have at least 10% free space in order to perform it.

The application supports all modern chipsets and drivers such as AMD, Intel (including Intel Rapid), Microsoft and NVIDIA. It supports NTFS filesystem partitions, Windows and MBR and GPT partition layouts. The program has been designed for EVO series drives, it will not work properly if the drive is protected by ATA Password.
