Power Matte is a very interesting tool for creating a kind of mask and dragging a selected object from the image in Adobe After Effects CS3, CS4 and CS5. Operation of the plugin is very simple and intuitive. To remove an object from the photo, simply use a brush to loosely mark the place it is in, and then use the next brush to show where the background is.
On the basis of the selection Power Matte generates a black and white image, which with the use of the mask is converted into a cut-out fragment of the object we are interested in. Power Matte is very good at masking details such as hair, smoke and reflections. Although Adobe After Effects from CS5 version has a built-in Roto Brush tool, users of older versions of the application will certainly appreciate the possibilities offered by Power Matte.
The price of the full version of the plugin, as in the case of other professional tools dedicated to motion graphics artists, is quite high. The selection generated by Power Matte can be used, among others, to correct colors, move the object to another place, etc. The plugin will also work well with the greenscreen and bring out details such as the presenter's hair.
