Power Defragmenter is a graphic overlay for the perfect Contig product from Sysinternals. Contig is a 64 kB great program designed to defragment drives for Windows NT/2000/XP systems. The application checks the location of files and the size of free space on your hard drive, and then proceeds to optimize.

Contig uses the standard Windows defragmentation API so it will not cause any damage to the drive when you turn off the program. Power Defragmenter has the ability to defragment selected files, folders, hard drives and the so-called PowerMode mode, which consists in optimizing data using Contig application and standard Defragmenter built in Windows. For the overlay to work properly, download the engine from Sysinternals.com and copy the Contig.exe file to the place where the Power Defragmenter GUI.exe application is located.
