Microsoft Skype for Business Basic, and after the Polish Microsoft Skype for Basic companies, is the basic version of Microsoft's business communicator, which replaced Lync. With Skype for businesses, you can send messages, make voice and video calls, hold online meetings, transfer files and transfer images from your desktop. The communicator integrates with Office 365 and in order to use it, you need to have login data to the company network.
Its other elements look very similar to those found in traditional Skype - statuses, friends list and chat window. Virtual meetings can be planned directly in Outlook, and during video conferencing you can present your desktop, a single program or PowerPoint slides to others. Companies using Office 365 ProPlus, Office 365 Enterprise E3 or Office 365 Enterprise E4 can install a more powerful version of Skype for business together with the office suite on their employees' computers.
