Helicon Focus is a professional tool for photographers who take pictures in macro or microscopic technique. Nevertheless, it can also be used to process other types of photos (portraits, landscapes, architecture, etc.), allowing the user to maximally sharpen and highlight the details of the photographs on different sets of frames. The software is based on the focus stacking method, which allows you to increase the depth of field based on a series of photos of the same frame.

It separates the sharp areas of the individual photographs and then combines them into a new image with greater depth of field. This technique is mainly aimed at people who take pictures from a close distance (e.g. insects, plants and other small objects) using a tripod.

The program has functions for correcting minor movements in photos and creating stacks of the highest possible quality from them, from which the final image will be rendered. Helicon Focus was also equipped with basic tools for photo retouching and text insertion. With the help of the application we can also create panoramas, animations and 3D photos.

Helicon Focus is distributed as a stand-alone application or extension for Adobe Lightroom. Its capabilities can be used by users of Windows and Mac OS operating systems.
