HD Tach is a program that allows you to perform a low-level test of drive speed. These include hard drives (IDE/ATA, Serial ATA, SCSI, ZIP/JAZZ drives), flash memory cards and RAID arrays. HD Tach bypasses standard disk access methods to show more reliable results regardless of software or operating system.
The free version of the program (not for commercial use) allows you to examine the sequential access to the disk and the speed of reading random sectors of the disk. It also specifies the CPU load when accessing the drive. The registered version has an additional possibility of testing the sequential recording.
