HDAT2 is a free application for diagnosing, testing and repairing HDDs. The program detects devices connected to AHCI/RAID controllers, ATA/ATAPI/SATA interfaces, SCSI bus, SDDs, and those connected via USB. As with other programs of this type, HDAT2 works independently of the operating system installed.

It does not matter what is the filesystem or the number and size of partitions. HDAT2 enables operation in two modes. Drive level testing, whose main task is to test and repair (regeneration) testing sectors of detected devices and to obtain information about the connected devices.

Another mode is File level testing, which allows you to check and remove (regenerate) damaged sector records, flags in the FAT table.
