Hard Disk Sentinel (HDSentinel) is one of the more advanced tools designed to analyze and monitor the status of HDDs and SSDs installed in the computer. The program allows you to test, diagnose and, if possible, repair problems that occur while the hard disk drive is running. It is not only able to detect errors on the data carrier, but also declines in device performance.

Hard Disk Sentinel provides detailed information about the drive, advice on how to take care of the condition of the device or alerts on detected problems or reports comparing different parameters of the media. The tool works on the basis of SMART technology, analyzing, among other things, the temperature and many other parameters of the disk, on the basis of which an overall evaluation of the device's condition is presented. The developers have equipped the program with a set of several diagnostic tests, which allow to examine the disk based on the operations of writing and/or reading data. They can be carried out in one of several modes of sector use - continuous, random or butterfly.
