Hardentools is a small program designed to increase security in Windows by deactivating some of the features of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and the operating system itself. You can operate the system at the touch of a button. The application deactivates scripting in Windows, blocks auto-running and the ability to use the Command Line.
Adobe Acrobat will no longer be able to load JavaScript scripts and run documents embedded in PDFs, while the Office suite will be devoid of macros, ActiveX controls and OLE objects support. At the moment, the program does not allow us to use any options in which we can choose which elements should be deactivated. All of them are turned off at the same time, but after restarting the computer, they can be restored to working order if necessary.
According to the creators, the program may be useful primarily from the point of view of ordinary computer users who never use any of the functions described above.
