CodeTwo Sync for iCloud is an interesting extension of the functionality offered by an official Apple iCloud client. The main problem with the currently quite limited Apple application is that instead of actually synchronizing existing data with Outlook, it creates an additional folder tree and synchronizes only the elements stored in the cloud. This means that, for example, we have to keep contacts, calendars or tasks in two places anyway, or simply give up our local data warehouse completely in favour of the cloud.
CodeTwo Sync for iCloud solves this problem and allows you to synchronize calendars, tasks and contacts directly between the local warehouse and the iCloud service. One-way and bidirectional synchronization modes are available in the application. Synchronization with public folders of CodeTwo Public Folders is also supported.
What is important, the program does not offer synchronization of the mail itself, but this effect will be achieved through IMAP or Exchange protocol. CodeTwo Sync for iCloud is installed as a plugin for Outlook. The application cooperates with Office version 2003, 2007 and 2010.
Due to the fact that the plugin extends the functionality of the official client, iCloud Control Panel for Windows, its earlier installation is required. The free trial version allows you to use all functions of the program for 30 days. You can then synchronise only calendar items free of charge.
The full version is naturally devoid of any restrictions.
