Alternate Pic View is an easy to use, open source tool for viewing and editing image files and, if necessary, can also be used as a program for creating simple graphics. At first glance, this application may be associated with Windows Paint. A similar-looking window and a relatively scarce number of tools available on the bar may not make a very good impression, but you will quickly notice a separate menu tab with effects, where you will find a lot of available options.

You will find there, among other things, blurring and sharpening, reduction of the red eyes effect, mirror effects, the possibility of turning the image, transforming it into a negative, and even the "random" option, which can give surprising effects. Alternate Pic View supports basically all the most popular image file formats, including JPG, BMP, PNG, ICO, TGA, TIF and others. In addition to the effects mentioned above, we can add our own texts to the edited graphics, draw various objects, fill them with color, and so on.

To sum up, this is an easy to use application, which may appeal to people looking for a slightly more advanced editor than MS Paint, but who do not want to learn how to use more complicated programs.
