A free tool to quickly check multiple computers on your corporate network for compatibility with Windows Vista. Windows Vista Hardware Assessment scans the remaining stations over the network and WMI from one computer. You do not need to install any additional services or agents on other computers.
In addition to the results, information about the drivers you need and where to download them is also displayed. The tool also informs which hardware the driver will be automatically located for. The program can also be used for other purposes (e.g.
accurate inventory) because it saves detailed information about the system and hardware (e.g. memory configurations, free disk space, processor type, etc.) in the database. Windows Vista Hardware Assessment generates two files - an Excel spreadsheet with detailed information about the scan results and a Word document with a summary.
Information about computer parameters is transmitted over the network in an encrypted form. Scanned computers must work under Windows 2000, XP or Windows Server 2003. Note:
1. The tool requires a free database server version of Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express, which will store the collected data (in this case it is necessary to install a new instance, which is already done by the Windows Vista Hardware Assessment installer). SQL Server 2005 Express can be downloaded from PROGRAMS ->
Programming -> Database Servers. In addition, to generate reports and workbooks it is necessary to have Primary Interop Assemblies libraries for Office (to download for XP, 2003 and 2007 versions).
