The second version of Windows Movie Maker for creating and editing movies. This free Windows XP add-on is often underestimated but interesting and easy to use tool for amateur movie making. Its functions, although limited, are completely sufficient for such applications.
The source material can be loaded from a file or captured from an external source (both digital DV cameras and analog devices, e.g. TV cards, are supported), and during film processing we can attach illustrations, add special effects, background music and narration. The main drawback of Windows Movie Maker is the lack of possibility to burn material to a DVD from the program itself.
