WakeMeOnLan is a simple and portable tool to remotely turn on/off computers in the local network. This program works on the basis of lists of computers that are created during the network scan. When the computer is switched on, its MAC address is saved on the list mentioned above.

Later on, it is used to send a WOL (Wake-on-LAN) packet to the collected addresses, allowing you to turn off or switch on workstations, e.g. in standby mode, with a single mouse click. For WakeMeOnLan to work on your local network (only wired connections are supported), you need to configure your management computer and remote workstations.

If on the first one it is enough to run the program, the remote computers must be properly prepared by activating the Wake-on-LAN function in the operating system and in some cases also in the BIOS. The advantage of WakeMeOnLan is that it is not necessary to install the tool in the system. It is supplied in portable form and can optionally be operated from the command line by entering the name, IP address or MAC address of the remote computer.

The beginnings are always the most difficult, but over time I have mastered the operation of the program.
