VRMark Basic Edition is an easy to use tool, thanks to which we can check how our computer can handle games using virtual reality technology. The free version of VRMark, Basic Edition, described here, includes an access to a benchmark called Orange Room, in which we will check our components for operation of such devices as HTC Vice and Oculus Rift. VRMark also includes additional operating modes (e.g.
DirectX 12 benchmark for VR), but these are only available in paid editions. After starting up, wait a while for VRMark Basic Edition to display information about your PC (operating system, CPU and GPU). After performing the benchmark, the tool will generate a detailed report, which will present the overall score, text summary, as well as the average number of FPSs (frames per second) displayed during the tests, comparing them with the minimum VR goggles requirements in this area.
Interestingly, the application can be launched not only in a traditional way, i.e. on a PC (for example, before purchasing the mentioned VR devices), but also with the use of the VR (Experience Mode) goggles.
