The latest version of the free browser that allows you to open and print, in Internet Explorer, documents (projects, diagrams, drawings, etc.) created in Microsoft Visio. The latest version allows you to view documents created in Visio 2007, as well as in versions 2003, 2002 2000 and 5. Visio Viewer 2003 is very useful when you want to pass documents created in Visio to people who do not have it installed on their computers.
The program offers a printing function but it is limited to the currently displayed part of the drawing. Works with Internet Explorer version 5 or later. Viewing Visio drawings is very easy:
simply double-click a drawing (file with the .VSD, .VSS, .VST, .VDX, .VSX or .VTX extension) in the Windows File Explorer. This opens Internet Explorer and Visio Viewer renders the drawing in the browser window. In the drawing window, you can also use the toolbar buttons, keyboard shortcuts or the menu items displayed by right-clicking to move and zoom.
You can also display the properties of a specific shape by opening the Properties and Settings dialog box and then selecting the shape. Some rendering and display settings are available in the Display Settings tab of the Properties and Settings dialog box. In addition, you can set the visibility and colours of the drawing layer in the Layer Settings tab, and the visibility and colours of the annotation in the Markup Settings tab.
Note: Visio Viewer is implemented as an ActiveX control that loads and renders Visio drawings in Internet Explorer. For proper operation it requires Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher.
