VideoLAN Movie Creator (VLMC for short) is an open source editor for non-linear editing and editing of video content, created by the authors of the popular media player VLC media player. The programme can be successfully used to create amateur videos, e.g. for their publication on the Internet.

We start working with it from the wizard, where we define the basic parameters of the project such as its name or size and audio/video quality. The next step is to import multimedia and place it on the timeline. VideoLAN Movie Creator offers support for as many input video clips as you like, allowing you to interweave them in an interesting way using the available effects.

The latter can also be used to improve the quality of loaded videos (brightening, increasing contrast, etc.). There were also options to define your own soundtrack for the projects you create. The application is currently under development, so some of the offered functions may be unstable.

Nevertheless, VideoLAN Movie Creator can be successfully used to create simple video content at home. Operation of the program will certainly not cause any problems even for novice users. Its advantage is a clear and intuitive graphical interface available in the Polish language version, as well as support for all common audio/video formats.
