SuperMemo 98 is a free version of a great program for acquiring knowledge, especially useful in supporting language learning (vocabulary and phrases). The method used in the program was developed by two Polish scientists from the Medical Academy in Poznań (Dr. Piotr Woźniak and Dr.
Edward Gorzelańczyk), its implementation was carried out by physicist Janusz Muratowski. SuperMemo has been developed for over 20 years as a commercial project but older versions are available free of charge. Despite the fact that the programme is already years old, it can still be extremely useful, all the more so because the method of learning used in it is considered to be extremely effective.
The curriculum itself is somehow the basis for teaching, the bases used in teaching are indispensable for learning. The program operates in three modes (beginner, simplified, professional), the basic modes "beginner" and "basic" are designed for beginners, while the professional mode allows a thorough control of the didactic process. Note 1:
The latest free version of SuperMemo 98 "released" in 2005 is available for download. 2. the databases necessary for learning can be created both on their own and downloaded from the network (both paid and amateurly created), and can be accessed both language learning resources and resources related to a wide range of other fields.
Please note that databases are "compatible down", i.e. you can only use databases for the version you are using, as well as those created for older versions. One of the collections of databases for version 98 can be found at akson.sgh.waw.pl.
