SRWare Iron is one of the most popular web browsers based on Google Chrome, created by German programmers in response to users' dissatisfaction with the privacy policy applied to the Google product. The application is based on the open code of Chrome browser and at first glance it is no different from it. Both the user interface and functionality offered by SRWare Iron is identical to Google software.
The user has a card browsing mechanism, the function of pinning and moving cards between multiple windows, a built-in file download manager, a pop-up blocker or a convenient bar for translating web pages. Importantly, just like Google Chrome, each tab on the website is run in a separate process and is isolated from the rest of the browser. Extensions and plug-ins work in a similar way, so that a failure of one of the browser components will not result in crashes of the entire program.
SRWare Iron also offers Incognito mode, which allows the user to safely browse pages where tracking scripts and cookies will not work. Although SRWare Iron is almost identical to its protopolist, it has undergone several modifications, which will surely satisfy users who appreciate privacy. In the German version of Chrome, functions such as assigning a unique identifier (Client-ID), storing information about the date of browser installation (Timestamp), sending an encrypted date of application download (RLZ-Tracking), as well as the mechanism of automatic updates, error reporting, search hints and a few others have been omitted.
