SpeedCommander is a powerful, yet easy to use file manager created by our western neighbors. It enables convenient and efficient data management on hard drives, optical media, flash drives and external network servers. The program is equipped with a traditional double panel layout, which allows you to manage files stored in different locations.

It is characterized by rich functionality, including support for archives in many popular formats (e.g. ZIP or CAB), the ability to preview the content of graphic and text files, as well as a built-in network localization client, allowing the transfer of files from/to FTP and FTP servers (SSH/SSL). There was also support for macros to automate frequent operations and keyboard shortcuts, which improve the performance of specific activities.

Other features of SpeedCommander include a built-in web browser that allows you to browse any web page from one of the panels, synchronization mode for the contents of the indicated directories, a mechanism for quick formatting/copying the contents of data storage media and deleting files stored on rewritable discs, creating and burning to optical storage media of disk images.
