Solar Flare is a free strategy game, which on the one hand simplifies certain solutions characteristic of the genre, and on the other hand limits the player's freedom while trying to provide entertainment a bit fresher than what is usually flooded with the game market. We are thrown into the solar system, where around the central star various planets circulate. However, we do not manage raw materials and troops on a micro scale, but as macro as much as possible.
Our globe is the main unit on which we directly focus on powerful guns, raise power fields, and build generators that accelerate the generation of energy used mainly for offensive activities. Without it, it will be difficult to destroy the other planets, which is the main goal of the game. Each of the dangerous cosmic bodies has indicators of vitality and energy, which regenerates automatically, but very slowly.
Planets follow their orbits, allowing you to concentrate on the enemy closest to you. Planets also rotate around their own axis, so hitting a specific, targeted target turns out to be not so easy. The flight path of the planet can possibly be corrected with the use of energy, but this will naturally limit our other warfare.
During the game it is also worth to shoot down the often appearing asteroids, because they give extra energy, can heal or simply by exploding they will inflict losses on the enemy, thus bringing us closer to the victory. The game has two modes, for single player and multiplayer. In the first one you can set the length of the game, the number of opponents, and also modify the color of the game.
Multiplayer mode is fun on the local network. Solar Flare has good graphics and genre-appropriate soundtrack. This is a simple game in rules, but still requiring a bit of cunning, dexterity and commitment from the player.
