SmartTube is a recommended extension for Firefox that allows you to download clips from YouTube and save them to your local disk in one of the selected formats (MP3, M4A, WEBM, MP4, 3GP). After installation, the plugin is available in the upper part of the browser window as a small icon, which illuminates as soon as you open the tab with downloadable YouTube content. Unlike alternative solutions of this type, the initiation of the download takes place from a special bar displayed just below the video clip as the content of the YT page.

However, this is not the end of the possibility of this small enlargement. In addition to this ability to download clips, SmartTube also allows you to block tedious ads, banners and comments displayed before and during the video.
