REPCoder is a tool for designing and handling database reports. It is intended mainly for database application developers. It can also be successfully used by people who create reports independently.

This tool, although small in size and simple and economical in form, has very advanced mechanisms that allow you to create almost any report. However, a good knowledge of SQL language is required. Since the program also has its own scripting language (similar to C), programming skills are also advisable.

For this reason, the REPCoder can be considered (according to its name) as a report programming tool. At the same time, it has great performance in terms of processing speed, amount of data and small hardware requirements. The program also fully implements WYSIWYG technology (what you see is what you get).

REPCoder is a multi-threaded application. The report is executed in the background as a separate thread and does not block the application. Therefore, the programmer can run several "long" reports at the same time from the REPCODER.DLL level, each in its own separate thread.

The biggest advantage of the tool is undoubtedly a completely unique way of designing report graphics. Noteworthy is also the native support for Firebird and Interbase databases. REPCoder 64-bit also works correctly with 64-bit client libraries of these servers (including the latest IBCLIENT64.DLL Interbase XE server from 2011).

The package contains ready-made programming interfaces for languages: C/C++, C#, Delphi. The program was written in C/C+++ language as a classic Windows application.

It uses only WIN32/WIN64 system functions, therefore it does not need MFC or .NET Framework libraries. It was compiled with Microsoft Visual C++ 2008. The program does not need the MSVCRT.DLL library, because it has been statically linked here.

This is a UNICODE application with support for wide Windows characters. The tool uses a popular ZLIB data compression library. However, the ZLIB.DLL file is not needed, because the ZLIB library has also been statically linked here.

The tool does not have an installer. One of the two files is enough to work: REPCODER.EXE (REPCODER64.EXE) or REPCODER.DLL (REPCODER64.DLL).

The programmer places only the REPCODER.DLL file in the same directory as the EXE file of his application. On the other hand, the person creating reports independently uses only the REPCODER.EXE file. In the latest version of the tool, the page size of the report design (default:

A4) is user-defined. This allows you to customize the report to the specific paper size of the printer.
