Processing is a graphic program that allows you to create both images and animations (2D or 3D), using the code created by the user in Java. The application should be treated as a library of this language - unnecessarily long functions have been shortened, many have also been added, however, the general principles of programming, i.e. the structures and instructions used, have remained unchanged.

Eventually, in order to use the program, it is enough to get to know its principle of operation by learning appropriate (relatively easy) commands, but also basic knowledge of programming rules (not necessarily in Java) will be necessary to freely use such mechanisms as loops or conditional instructions. Spatial imagination and passion for mathematics will also prove useful. In return for the unusual and for those who are not interested in programming - difficult - operation, the application pays back the possibilities that are unattainable in most other programs of this type.

The creation of graphics or animation should be understood here from the point of view of programming, and thus assume that the only limitation is the imagination of the user. A wide range of applications can be analysed by checking sample projects available after installation. There are many of them, and they cover a variety of areas, so that we can see how the instructions contained in the code are interpreted.

To load an example, go to the "File" menu, then select "Examples...". and indicate the project we are interested in by browsing the multi-level category tree. The code will be loaded in the new application instance.

To start it, use the "Run" button at the top of the interface. After analyzing at least a few examples (the length of their code in comparison to the received effects is relatively small), we will be able to start creating our own works without any problems, and with time, developing our workshop, we will be able to use more and more effects available in the program. After unpacking the archive file, the program does not require installation.
