Playnite is a free (open-source license) tool to manage your own library of computer games. Thanks to it we will have access to all our titles from the level of one application. In the age of digital games, we have to "jump" between different services in order to launch a chosen production.

Some of them we have on Steam, others can only be found on Origin, GOG, Battle.necie or Uplay. However, we can deal with this problem and install a free Playnite application to which we will only import the installed games or all the games we have in digital versions. Playnite offers a very simple and uncomplicated wizard, thanks to which we will configure the tool step by step at the first start.

In addition to importing games from services such as Steam, Origin, GOG, Battle.net and Uplay, there is also an option to add games that are not available in the above mentioned digital stores (e.g. DRM-free versions from old magazines). Preparation of the tool for operation takes just a few dozen seconds, including the time needed to download metadata.

Playnite automatically retrieves detailed information about our titles (e.g. cover or description). Interestingly, the application also has a timer for the time spent in a given title.

Although this option is available on Steam or Origin, it is not available in all clients of the most popular digital services (e.g. Battle.necie). Playnite unfortunately still requires dedicated clients to run specific services, so if you have - for example - Grand Theft Auto V Steam version, then by clicking the "play" button in this application you will have to log in to the Valve platform.
