Opera Mail is a mail client with the function of newsgroup reader, IRC and RSS/Atom feeds, which until recently was an integrated part of Opera web browser, and since its version 15 is distributed as a stand-alone application. The program provides the possibility of handling any number of e-mail accounts via popular POP3, IMAP and SMTP protocols. The client's functionality is rather limited to a minimum and includes only the most important functions necessary for the convenient handling of e-mail, while being characterized by a low demand for system resources.

Opera Mail has a standard layout of elements in the main application window, which does not differ from the scheme used in the most popular Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird mail clients. It includes a list of mailbox folders, a full list of received correspondence and its preview. The application gives the possibility to change the basic arrangement of individual components - according to one of the available display modes.

A big advantage of this small e-mail client is the support for the card mechanism, which allows you to work comfortably with more than one message in the program window. Individual functions available in Opera Mail allow you not only to send and receive electronic messages efficiently, but also to manage them conveniently on your computer. You have the ability to label correspondence and save information about the recipients of our messages in your contact book.

The program handles correspondence in text format as well as HTML.
