Mp3tag is an extensive, free program used primarily for editing the so-called tags, i.e. hidden in meta-data files (in ID3, Vorbis Comments and APE format) containing information about musical works. It enables, among others, automatic creation of playlists, serial deletion of information in many files at the same time, change of file names based on tags, completion of tags based on file name and location, export of information contained in tags to HTML, RTF, CSV or XML files, import of information about files from a local or internet freedb database containing information about music files and many others.
