Mischief is a painting program that has gained fame thanks to its unlimited working area, which we can enlarge and reduce as much as we want. The program works very well with graphic tablets and allows you to paint on layers. The interface of the program is very simple - it consists of a tool tray and three pallets, allowing you to work on layers, select brushes and manipulate the color.
Each of these pallets can be extended to gain access to more possibilities. There are 6 basic types of brushes and also 6 corresponding erasers. Brushes can be customized for transparency and width changes due to changes in the pressure on the tablet pen, if the brush type offers this option.
You can also draw using vector shapes, and you can select, copy, delete and paste parts of a drawing. Drawing is very natural and if you run out of space, you can be completely relaxed about it and simply move the working area. You can use tools from a palette or gestures on your touchscreen, tablet or laptop trackpad.
If the image consists of several layers, you may experience slight rendering delays. When exporting an image to a popular graphic format, you can choose to export the visible area or the selected fragment. The colour selection palette is very simple.
You can choose the color on it, in a magnified version also giving the RGB color code, or using the color sampler. Favorite colors can be dragged to a handy list. Finally, it is worth adding that the full version of the program has the ability to export files in PSD format with the preservation of layers.
You can also change the transparency of the entire window to help you draw from the underlying image. The trial version allows you to draw without restrictions for 15 days. The full version of the program costs $25.
