Microsoft Safety Scanner is a free tool, whose task is to find and remove malware from Windows. The program, after starting, carries out a scanning process, during which it examines the contents of the hard drive for the occurrence of various types of malicious software. Depending on the type of work selected, it can only scan areas where there is a high probability of viruses (fast mode), the entire system (full mode), as well as locations indicated by the user (custom mode).

The latter is also scanned in fast mode by default. Upon completion of the test, Microsoft Safety Scanner provides a detailed report containing information about detected and deleted software that could pose a threat to your computer. Microsoft Safety Scanner does not require installation on the computer and is ready to use immediately after downloading.

However, this has one significant drawback. The tool does not have a direct virus database update mechanism. This means that in order to be sure that we are using the current version, we will have to download the entire program from time to time.

The manufacturer himself has prepared here some security measures, which allow you to use Microsoft Safety Scanner only for 10 days from the moment of its download. The tool is compatible with antivirus software and complements it. Importantly, it should not be used as an equivalent.
