Light Alloy is a free media player (including DVD/Blu-ray discs) focused primarily on the speed of operation and low use of system resources. The most important functions of the Light Alloy application include fast video loading, subtitles with adjustable time shift, creation of favourite media lists, generation of screenshots including thumbnails, displaying detailed information about files (e.g. codecs used, resolution, etc.) and the ability to control the player by means of an infrared remote control (WinLIRC).
Light Alloy comes with built-in codecs to play the most popular audio and video formats. In addition, the user can define custom codecs for selected video formats as well as video playback based on filters and codecs already installed in the system. Light Alloy is also equipped with amplification and normalization of sound, the ability to configure video playback at speeds from 0.1 x to 32x, and real-time modifications of video parameters such as brightness, contrast, saturation, volume level, etc.
