Left is a free text editor that gives the user quite interesting possibilities. In the main Left window you can simply enter more lines of text and separate paragraphs without any formatting option for your document (both background and font type are imposed in advance). However, it will become much more interesting when we start using additional tags, such as:

#,## or-- that will allow us to create a kind of table of contents visible on the left side of the screen. A minimalist user interface does not mean that Left has a negligible number of options. In addition to the above mentioned possibilities, you will also find an auto-complete function and a dictionary of synonyms.

Keyboard shortcuts are also available (full list can be found on the manufacturer's official website), which make it easier to navigate the program or to open and save files.
