ISO Recorder is one of the simplest and free programs for working with ISO images. The application uses existing optical drive mechanisms in the system and is installed as a shell overlay for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. Its ISO Recorder options are available through the context menu.
The program allows you to burn an ISO image to a CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc, as well as - more importantly - to create such an image from a disc placed on the drive or from a selected folder on the disc. With ISO Recorder it is also possible to make a copy of the disc. The whole process is simple, if you are creating an image, just right-click on the CD drive icon in the Computer window and select the option to create an image and the location where you want to save it.
Similarly simple is recording - during installation ISO Recorder associates .iso files with each other, so double-clicking on such file starts the program and immediately allows you to burn the image.
