Free Iji platformer is something for fans of titles like Flashback or Another World. It took one capable programmer four years to close the project and then several months to eliminate bugs reported by fans. Eventually, however, we received a very mature production, both in terms of the mechanics of the game, as well as in terms of feature films.
Here you will see a sad futuristic vision of the fall of mankind. The title character of Ija is the last hope of a world conquered by a cosmic race of aliens. In a secret scientific complex, she managed to combine her body with technology obtained from an invader before the enemy forces knocked out all the scientists' legs.
Only a shy girl, suddenly proclaimed saviour, survived, and her brother, barricaded in a safe room, who contacted her via the radio. Through their conversations we get to know history and see how the character grows up to the task it is supposed to fulfill, i.e. liberating the planet from the heavy yoke.
Apart from jumping on platforms, as it happens in games of this genre, in production you will have to shoot enemies many times, hiding behind the shields from their salvos. As the player gains experience, he develops various Iji statistics, which will translate directly into defensive and offensive capabilities. Over time, it will gain new, more powerful weapons, necessary for survival at a later date, and will also solve simple logical riddles.
The game surprises with a simple but carefully made two-dimensional graphic design. Character animations should be appreciated, as well as the relatively good detail of the environment. A special archaic style goes hand in hand with the soundtrack.
It's also worth knowing that although the game is really linear, it offers different endings depending on the decisions made on the way to the final. This encourages her to go through it again.
