Greenfish Icon Editor Pro (GFIE Pro for short) is a powerful open source tool for creating and editing icons. The application can also be used to process animated images, libraries of icons and digital photos. The tool is really nothing more than a powerful graphics program that has been adapted to create and edit icons for Windows and Mac.

It can also be successfully used to process all kinds of graphics, and thanks to the layer mechanism support, it allows you to work on more complex graphic designs, consisting of many independent elements. Greenfish Icon Editor Pro, despite its small size, offers a full set of tools for complex work with icons. All of them are located on the panel in the left part of the program window, where you will find the most popular functions for marking, drawing, trimming, applying shapes and lines, filling in or applying gradients to the project.

As in the case of standard graphics software, the main application window also contains layer sections and a colour sampler. Other noteworthy features include the card mechanism, which allows you to work with multiple icon files and graphics in one program window, and a set of several filters, with the help of which we will increase the quality of our projects. These include positions for color management, sharpening/blurring, transparency and shading.

The application supports files in ICO, CUR, ANI, ICNS, PNG, XPM, BMP, JPG, GIF, PCX and other formats.
